The Fallout Shelter

The Fallout Shelter is an all-ages 100-seat performance venue and state-of-the-art broadcast and recording studio, offering one of the most unique live music experiences in New England. Located in Norwood, MA, just 15 miles from Boston, The Fallout Shelter is run under the auspices of the Grass Roots Cultural and Performing Arts Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, promoting and advocating for traditional American Roots music. The Fallout Shelter welcomes audiences to attend live shows while experiencing and participating in the creation of The Extended Play Sessions, a music television series streamed live on RUclips and Facebook. All performances are filmed, recorded and broadcast from multiple camera angles with professional audio engineering and video production.

Max Baca is a legend on the bajo sexto, a twelve string guitar-like instrument which customarily provides rhythm accompaniment to the button accordion thus creating the "conjunto' sound. What happened to the cool Gibson Johnny A model guitar? He still sounds good on a Strat, but a bit different. Blond hair bleach job to hide the gray? Hey, man. We're all getting older. First time I saw Johnny in concert in San Diego, we both still had some brown hair. My brown hair has all been replaced by silver. Can't stop Father Time.

Bin ich froh einen der Väter (neben Alexis Korner) des britischen Blues live gesehen zu haben. Bei einem der Väter des Blues überhaupt, hatte ich nicht soviel Glück. Ich hatte das Ticket schon in der Tasche. Leider ist er dann krank geworden und gestorben - John Lee Hooker! 😢
1990 war er noch live in Wien.
